General strike on Sunday in occupied Syrian Golan in protest against Israel’s decision to build wind turbines

QUNEITRA, (ST)- The people of the occupied Syrian Golan have reaffirmed their complete rejection of the Israeli plan to build wind turbines on their farmland.

After their meeting in Majdal Shams town, the people of occupied Golan issued a statement in which they described the Israeli decision to build the wind turbines as a flagrant aggression that aims at displacing the locals and stealing their lands.

They reaffirming their adherence to their land and their Syrian identity.

 They called for a general strike on Sunday, vowing determination to  confront the Israeli decision by all possible means and warned the occupation’s government against implementing this aggressive plan.

 The wind turbines project, which the Israeli occupation wants to implement under the pretext of generating electricity from wind energy, seeks building 52 giant wind turbines on around 600 dunums of the Golan people’s lands. This aggressive plan will lead to the displacement of many locals from their houses.
