General Security Forces carry out a security campaign in 2 towns in Daraa countryside

DARAA, Apr.19, (ST)-The General Security Forces carried out a security campaign in the towns of Deir al-Bokht and Muthbin in the northern Daraa countryside, with the aim of seizing weapons that are outside state control and pursuing wanted individuals involved in security incidents.

A security source said in a statement to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the campaign targeted those who stirred chaos and anyone carrying a weapon who was not affiliated with state military institutions or security agencies.

The campaign resulted in the seizure of hundreds of weapons, according to the source.

The source indicated that the General Security Forces conducted thorough searches based on pre-prepared lists of wanted individuals and the locations of weapons.

He noted that the cooperation of the local population was positive and effective and contributed to facilitating the operation.

The source stressed that this campaign is part of ongoing efforts to eradicate the phenomenon of illegal weapons and will continue in various regions to ensure security and stability and re-impose state authority.

He affirmed that the General Security Service will remain the impregnable bastion of security and safety for Syria and its people, and will continue its work with determination to achieve the peace and stability that everyone deserves.
