General Organization for Free Zones, during the past 3 months, achieved an increase in revenues at 196% compared to last year
The General Organization for Free Zones’ total revenues during the first three months of this year recorded an increase of 196% compared the same period last year.
The General Organization explained in its report that its total revenues amounted to 46.433 billion Syrian Pounds (SYP) from the beginning of this year until the end of last March, compared to 15.664 billion SYP for the same period in 2023, according to the financial indicators of the organization’s performance.
According to the report, the capital invested in the free zones in foreign currencies reached 371 million dollars, an increase of 3 million dollars compared to the same period in 2023, while the total values of imported goods and machinery that entered the zones amounted to 424 billion SYP, achieving an increase of 384 billion SYP compared to the same period last year.
The General Organization indicated in its report that the value of the goods and machinery exported from the free zones, whether for local consumption or transit outside the country, amounted to 432 billion SYP, achieving an increase of 335 billion SYP compared to the same period last year.
The Organization pointed out that the total costume duties collected by the General Customs Directorate as a result of placing goods and machinery in the free zones for local consumption amounted to 39.456 billion SYP, while the number of investors in the various branches of the free zones reached 686 investors.
