General Intelligence Service, Public Security Department thwart ISIS attempt to explode Sayyeda Zeinab Shrine

DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, JAN.11, (ST), Today, the General Intelligence Service, in cooperation with the Public Security Department in the Damascus countryside thwarted ISIS attempt to carry out an explosion inside the shrine of Sayyeda Zeinab in the vicinity of Damascus, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency ( SANA).

The agency quoted a source at the General Intelligence Service as saying: “The General Intelligence Service, in cooperation with the Public Security Department in the Damascus countryside, succeeded in thwarting ISIS attempt to carry out an explosion inside the shrine of Sayyeda Zeinab in the vicinity Damascus.”

It added:” The operation resulted in the arrest of the people involved in this attempt that aims to carry out a major criminal act against the Syrian people.”

“We affirm that the General Intelligence Service is using all its capabilities to confront all attempts that target all sects of the Syrian people,” the sources asserted.
