General Company for Wool and Carpet Industry in Hama exerts  great efforts to produce best types at competitive prices

Great efforts are being made by the employees of the General Company for Wool and Carpet Industry in Hama to produce woolen threads of various sizes from 6 to 18 metres, and in multiple colors that meet the needs of public and private sector laboratories, as well as producing 100 percent wool carpets with distinguished specifications.

In a statement to SANA, the company’s general manager, Engineer Yasser Al-Muhammad, noted the good quality produced by the company with the addition of an anti-moth substance that preserves the carpets for a long time without damaging them. He expected that the current year would witness a great demand from citizens due to the large difference in price and quality with the private sector.

Head of the spinning department at the company, Reem Salman, stated that the woolen threads needed for the manufacture of carpets are produced in the company’s laboratories, according to several stages that include sorting and washing, leading to the stage of spinning and dyeing.  The threads are sent to the carpet factory in Damascus and Suwayda for the production of super Tabrizi wool carpets according to the best specifications and capabilities available.

The company’s technical director, Engineer Mohamed Ragab, pointed out that the company has achieved sales worth one billion and 486 million Syrian Pound since the beginning of this year until last September, distributed between woolen carpets and woolen yarn. During the aforementioned period, it produced about 80 tons of woolen yarn, 8,850 square meters of woolen carpets, and 161 tons of washed wool.
