The General Authority of Land and Sea Ports announced today that Turkey and Jordan have lifted restrictions on Syrian imports.
Director of Relations at the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports Mazen Alloush said in a statement to SANA: “discussions between the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports and the Turkish Ministry of Trade have resulted in a decision to lift the restrictions imposed on the export of Syrian goods and products to Turkish markets, as well as to open Turkey’s territory to reactivate the transit export of goods to foreign countries.”
Alloush stated : The authority expresses its gratitude and appreciation to the Turkish Minister of Trade for the decision to lift the restrictions, which reflects the depth of trade relations between the two countries.
This contributes to enhancing economic cooperation and mutual trade, with the hope of continuing fruitful work between institutions to achieve further progress and prosperity, he clarified.
Alloush added that after coordination and communication between the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports and both the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Supply and the Ministry of Transport in Jordan, an agreement was reached to exempt Syrian trucks entering Jordanian territory from all previously imposed fees.
Alloush confirmed the Authority’s deep appreciation for this decision and thanked the Jordanian government and the concerned parties for their diligent efforts to facilitate the transportation and trade exchange between the two countries, which reflects the depth of fraternal relations between Syria and Jordan and contributes to enhancing economic cooperation.
