General Abbas attends the funeral of the Iranian martyrs in the attack on Iranian Consulate in Damascus

Damascus (ST) – Today, within a military ceremony and in the presence of Syria’s Minister of Defence General Ali Abbas, the funeral of the martyred Iranian advisors, who died as a result of the Israeli aggression against the Iranian consulate in Damascus, took place from the military hospital in Damascus, and their bodies were transferred to Tehran.

Minister Abbas said during the funeral that those martyrs were our partners in blood, our partners in fighting terrorism and its supporters.

“On behalf of every soldier and officer in the Syrian Arab Army and on my own, I condole Iran’s leadership, people, army, and officers over the martyrdom of these heroes, and I tell them that these heroes will remain a beacon for liberating all the occupied Arab lands”, Abbas added.

In turn, Iran’s ambassador to Syria Hossein Akbari said: “This heinous crime of the Zionist entity, whose foundation was built on murder, criminality, and violation of international conventions, constitutes a clear insult to the UN and all the countries belonging to this international group, before insulting Iran and Syria, which have known for fifty years the criminal truth of this entity.”

Akbari affirmed that this crime reserves their right to respond at the same level.
