Gen. Freij: Syrian Army is Capable of Defeating Terrorist Plot

DAMSCUS,(ST)_ Army Deputy Commander in Chief and defense minister Gen. Fahd Jassem Freij accompanied by several army officers yesterday toured Adra workers and Adra al-Balad cities in Rural Damascus, during which he conveyed President Bashar al-Assad’s greetings to armed forces who restored security and stability to the city.

Gen. Friej inspected the army units which seized control of the region, and listened from field commanders to detailed explanations on the military operation carried out by the army units in eliminating terrorist groups that had terrorized innocent civilians and committed acts of murder, kidnapping and systematic destruction in the area.

He saw continued work carried out by the army engineering units in cleaning Adra, and dismantling improvised mines planted by terrorist organizations and the size of destruction and devastation left by those gangs against the city’s buildings, shops and infrastructure.

Gen. Friej also inspected the streets of Adra al-Balad, which were transferred by terrorist organizations to tunnels and trenches, used as springboard for their criminal acts against the innocent civilians and the destruction of their property.

He praised the heroism of the brave men of the army and the high morale they enjoy while scarifying themselves in defense of their nation, and to defeat the terrorist plot targeting Syria’s steadfastness and positions against the American-Zionist scheme  in the region.
