GCC, Jordan and Kuwait hail integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces into Syrian State Institutions

The Gulf Cooperation Council welcomed the agreement to integrate the Syrian Democratic Forces into the institutions of the Syrian Arab Republic.

Secretary-General of the Council Mohammed Al-Badawi affirmed in a statement reported by the website of the General Secretariat, the Council’s firm position in calling on all parties and components of the Syrian people to join efforts, give priority to the supreme interest and adhere to national unity, to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people.

Al-Badawi stressed the necessity of ensuring the safety of civilians, achieving national reconciliation, preserving the Syrian state institutions and capabilities, integrating all factions under the umbrella of the Ministry of Defense, and restricting the carrying of weapons to the state, in order to preserve security and stability in Syria and restore its regional role and international status.

Al-Badawi expressed his hope that the agreement would contribute to supporting the process of stability and development in Syria, and enhance its unity, sovereignty and independence.

Meanwhile, Jordan and Kuwait described the Integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces into Syrian State Institutions as an Important Step towards reconstruction and enhanceing security and stability.

Jordan welcomed the step an important step towards rebuilding Syria, in accordance with the foundations that guarantee its unity, sovereignty, and freedom from terrorism, and that preserve the rights of the Syrian people.

The Jordanian News Agency, Petra, quoted the spokesman for the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sufian Qudah as affirming Jordan’s support for Syria, and its readiness to provide everything it can to support and back the Syrian people to pass the transitional phase and rebuild Syria as a free, stable, sovereign homeland, through a Syrian-Syrian process in which all segments of the Syrian people participate

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs considerdd the step an important step in the efforts to rebuild the state and its institutions and enhance security and stability in Syria.

The Ministry renewed, in a statement reported by the Kuwaiti News Agency “KUNA”, the position of the State of Kuwait in support of the sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity of Syria.
