Gaza Media Office has confirmed that the Israeli occupation dropped 40,000 tons of explosives during its aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip, noting that the temporary truce revealed the extent of the large-scale massacres committed by the occupation. The Israeli occupation has taken a decision to make the Strip uninhabitable.
Palestinian media quoted the head of the Media Office, Salama Maarouf, as saying in a statement today: The extent of the destruction, the extent of the killing and the targeting cannot be described. The occupation dropped 40,000 tons of explosives on Gaza Strip, and the bombs the Israelis used in their aggression have not been used before. The Israeli entity committed a number of massacres two hours earlier to the occupation’s incursion into the Strip. The head of the media office indicated a number of massacres in this respect, pointing out that there are more than 60,000 direct victims of the occupation’s holocaust, and these are the cases the media office was able to register. However, there are hundreds of bodies of martyrs who were buried in the locations of their martyrdom and it was not possible to register them or even examine them by medical teams.
Maarouf added: The truce is supposed to allow for a change, even if only partially, to the catastrophic humanitarian reality. There are 800,000 Palestinians in Gaza and its north, who constitute a third of the population of the Strip, who lack the most basic needs of living necessities. Maarouf pointed out that despite the passage of three days since the truce, there is a complete absence of international institutions which were supposed to move since the very first moment to reach out to all parts of the Strip in order to document the extent of the destruction, examine the humanitarian needs and work to meet them.
Maarouf pointed out that the Shifaa Medical Complex in Gaza lacks all capabilities and has become unfit for use as a medical center, stressing that the occupation’s claims of the presence of military equipment below the Complex are mere lies which were proved to be untrue. That is why the occupation blew up the complex’s facilities, including the electricity generators, oxygen pumps, and x-ray machines, before the Israeli withdrawal from the location.
