Gaza Media Office: The continued closure of the Rafah and Karem Abu Salem crossings reinforces the occupation to continue its genocide against the Palestinians
The Gaza Media Office has confirmed that the Israeli occupation’s continued closure of the Rafah and “Kerem Shalom” ( Karem Abu Salem) crossings constitutes a step in the further collapse of the health system in the Gaza Strip, targeting, destroying, burning, and completely putting hospitals out of work, which reinforces the occupation’s commission of the crime of genocide against the Palestinians.
“For the thirteenth day in a row, the occupation prevents the entry of food and supply aid, medical tools and supplies, and prevents the entry of fuel to hospitals and devices that provide humanitarian services” The office said in a statement on Sunday.
It added the occupation also prevents the travel of the wounded and sick after occupying the Rafah border crossing and closing the Kerem Shalom crossing, which doubles the deep humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
The statement pointed out that “The occupation prevents the entry of approximately 3,000 various aid trucks, and prevents 690 wounded and sick people from traveling to receive treatment in hospitals outside the Gaza Strip,” which exacerbates the humanitarian crisis in the Strip.
The office made it clear that the American administration, the European Union, and the international community did not do their duty, and did not play their role required to prevent genocide, rather , they gave the occupation the green light to continue this crime, and to continue the policies of starvation and siege in clear violation of the rules of international law and international humanitarian law.
Gaza media office called on all countries of the free world and international organizations to put pressure on the occupation in order to stop the genocidal war, open the crossings immediately before the humanitarian catastrophe occurs, and allow the entry of aid to more than 2 million and 400 thousand Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip, including 2 million displaced people who live mainly on aid.
