Gaza Media Office: Gazans find no joy on Eid Al-Fitr in the light of the ongoing Israeli aggression

The Media Office in Gaza has stressed that the Israeli occupation continues its war of genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza Strip on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr in a clear disregard to Muslims’ feelings, holding the US administration responsible for this genocide.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Office said that Gaza Strip received Eid al-Fitr with more sadness, grief and pain, in the light of the continuation of the crimes and the war of genocide and ethnic cleansing committed by the Israeli occupation and in the light of the high number of martyrs and wounded, due to continuous massacres, the latest of which was the horrific massacre committed on the eve of Eid Al-Fitr and that claimed the lives of 14 Palestinians.

The statement called on the international community to stop this criminal war on Gaza Strip by all means, and to put pressure on the Israeli entity to stop its continued aggression against the Palestinians, holding the US administration responsible for this crime due to its participation in it through providing the occupation with weapons and military equipment and covering up its crimes.

The Palestinian citizens in Gaza Strip performed Eid al-Fitr prayers on the ruins of mosques destroyed by the Israeli aggression, in the shelter schools to which they were displaced, and in public squares in the rain and cold weather.

During its ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip since October 7, the Israeli occupation destroyed 229 mosques completely and 297 mosques partially.

In Rafah, south of Gaza Strip, where more than a million citizens were displaced, a number of displaced people performed Eid prayers in shelter schools and near displacement tents.

Several relief organizations took the initiative to distribute sweets and toys to children in an attempt to put a smile on their faces despite the difficult circumstances. Eid prayers were also held on the ruins of Al-Farouq Mosque in the city.
