Gatilov: The next round of the Syrian Constitutional Committee’s meetings to be held ASAP

Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and Other International Organizations in Geneva Gennady Gatilov has declared that the next round of the Syrian Constitutional Committee’s meetings is to be held as soon as possible.  

In a statement to Sputnik,  Gatilov said the date of the next round was due to be held in October, and we are going to set the exact date.

He pointed out that United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Geir O. Pedersen is communicating with all parties of the Syrian constitutional committee.

“Russia supports the work of the committee by all means.. And it is better to hold the next round without any delay as there are agenda and issues upon which all parties have agreed to discuss,” Gatilov added.

The committee comprises 45 members, 15 representing the national delegation, 15 representing the Syrian civil society and the remaining 15 representing the oppositions.
