Garribashvele: Terrorists Flock to Syria from all over the world

TBILISI, (ST) _ Prime Minister of the Republic of Georgia Irakli Garribashvele admitted inability of his country authorities to control the recruitment and sending of terrorists to Syria, to join ranks of terrorist organizations, pointing out that the competent authorities only monitor them.

In a press conference in Tbilisi, yesterday, Garribashvele confirmed on the killing of terrorists from Georgian origin in Syria that terrorists from all over the world are flocking to Syria and that “Georgia is no exception.”

 

Earlier in the day, Georgian media revealed that at least eight terrorists of Georgian origin were killed in Syria.

“That was the option of those who had left the country and went to Syria. Of course, this is very bad, but we are following this process closely.” Garribashvele said.

He added that according to his information, the vast majority of Georgian terrorists who joined terrorist groups in Syria, ” had left the country two or three years ago, adding that “certainly we can not control this process as people’s movement can not be controlled even in the US and the EU countries whose citizens also flocked to Syria. “

On December 24th, the Spanish ABC newspaper confirmed that Daesh terrorist organization is still able to recruit terrorists in its ranks, warning that the transit of terrorists from Europe to Syria or Iraq will be more momentous, if strict security measures are not taken, especially in the countries that become under terrorist threat, calling on several European countries to intensify efforts to stop terrorist recruitment campaigns taking place within their territories.
