The G20 launched a fund to combat epidemics, amid the anger and criticism of many developing countries over what happened during the Corona pandemic, and the rich countries retained the bulk of the resources.
Reuters quoted Indonesian President Joko Widodo, the current head of the G20, as saying at the launch of the fund: “The funds collected so far to enhance preparedness for future epidemics are not enough,” expecting greater support.
The fund launched by Indonesia targets low- and middle-income countries to fund measures including surveillance and monitoring, and to increase access to vaccines.
