The Palestinian Al-Quds Brigade on Saturday held a funeral for 46 fighters who were martyred in 2016 in Syria’s Aleppo during the battle with foreign-backed terrorist groups in the country.
The fighters were martyred in a terrorist explosion that targeted a tunnel in Jamiyet Al-Zahraa area, to the west of Aleppo.
The funeral ceremony was held in Aleppo after the process of searching for the bodies of the martyrs in the explosion site which was completed last year.
Major General Salim Harba, Head of the Military and Security Committee in Aleppo, said during the funeral ceremony that the martyrs defended Aleppo against terrorism and watered the Syrian soil with their sacred blood, pointing out that thanks to their sacrifices alongside the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army, a major victory was achieved in Aleppo that led to its liberation from terrorism.
Commander of Al-Quds Brigade Mohammad Saeed said that the funeral ceremony is held in gratitude for these martyrs’ sacrifices in the battle against terrorism in Syria.
On behalf of the Palestinian Liberation Army, Brigadier General Fayez Al-Basha renewed the pledge to continue the path of resistance against aggressors, stressing adherence to resistance as the only option to liberate every inch of Syria from terrorism and occupation and to establish the independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.
