“FSA ” receives orders from al-Qaeda’

A political analyst says Iraq and Syria are both involved in fighting against al-Qaeda, saying the terrorist group is calling the shots” over the Free Syrian Army.

I believe that Iraq and Syria are now linked in their fate fighting al-Qaeda, which is in full control, I believe, in what happens in Syria despite the claims that the so-called Free Syrian Army is actually calling the shots,” Nasser al-Omari told Press TV in an interview on Sunday.

He added that Iraqi al-Qaeda agents are in league with the Syrian and Arab elements.

Al-Omari also ruled out the possibility of an al-Qaeda attempt to regroup its jailed members who recently broke out in Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

I believe the elements who broke out of that prison do not need anybody to motivate them to go back to fighting what they perceive as infidels or whoever happens to be their enemy,” the political commentator from New York said.

On July 23, al-Qaeda in Iraq issued a statement claiming responsibility for deadly attacks on two major prisons in the capital Baghdad and the nearby town of Taji that freed hundreds of militants.

Two Iraqi lawmakers, Hakim al-Zamili and Shawan Mohammed Taha, said about 500 prisoners have managed to escape during the attacks and a manhunt is under way.

Al-Qaeda in Iraq is a shadowy group that was once allegedly led by Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Zarqawi was reportedly killed in June 2006.

Al-Omari further said that the Syrian opposition cann’t distance itself from the al-Qaeda elements and expressed doubt that such a bid will be effective because more and more al-Qaeda elements actually are now pouring into Syria.”
