From the balcony of her house, a woman makes  a nursery to produce flowers

From the balcony of her house, which does not exceed a few meters, Seham Ismail established her small project to grow different types of flowers especially “cacti”, relying on her experience in the field of agriculture. She expanded her small project, which has become a source of livelihood for her and her family, achieving economic returns that help her improve her financial situation.

Ismail explained in a statement to SANA reporter that her love for flowers and plants led her to take an interest in growing various types of them, especially cacti, which has many benefits such as aloe vera which contains a number of vitamins, minerals, and acids used to treat skin and complexion-related problems.

Ismail pointed out that she started her small project with simple tools, starting from the small balcony of her house in which she planted small varieties of cacti then she devoted herself to taking care of them and branching them out to obtain a large number of seedlings. She took advantage of an area next to her house and planted it with small pots, to sell them later to those interested in plants at reasonable prices to decorate their homes, noting that her small project received the support of her family and that helped her to expand her project by visiting a number of agriculture nurseries and learning about the various types of cacti plants and the benefits of each.

Ismail’s passion for growing flowers and plants led her to pay attention to choosing planting pots of different shapes and sizes, then decorating them with accessories so they  have her own special imprint on her products, noting that she markets her products by participating in exhibitions and bazaars on a regular basis, in addition to selling them in a number of flower shops in her area.

Regarding her participation in the flower exhibition that was recently held in Tishreen Park in Damascus, Ismail said: It was a good opportunity to learn about and benefit from the cultures of the participating countries in the field of plant cultivation and the methods of displaying and marketing them, as exhibitions are the ideal place to market their products.

Ismail advised women to take advantage of  spaces in their homes by farming and starting their small projects to help their families with additional income which will help them to face the economic conditions.
