President Assad, during his visit to the town inspected Deir Mar Sarkis and Bacchus and saw the effects of the devastation and destruction inflected on the monastery at the hands of terrorists.

After passing through the eastern rift, upon visiting the monastery of Mar Takla, the President said : No one whatever terror he has, can erase our humanitarian history and civilization.

The President added that Maloula with other Syrian human civilization monuments will remain steadfast in the face of the barbarism and obscurantism, of the one who targets the country.

On the way back from Maloula and while passing in Ein al-Tineh village, the President stressed to villagers who had gathered around him that their honorable position in defense of their village and neighboring villages, is but a true manifestation of the Syrian society and the bright civilization of its people.
