From Iraq to Damascus, flowers and plants carry messages of love between the two peoples

Damascus (ST): Various types of flowers, ornamental plants and garden designs, for which Iraq is famous for, were present in the 42nd edition of the flower fair organized by the Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the Damascus Governorate in Tishreen Park in Damascus.

The participants from  Iraq found an opportunity to display their products and compete with local and Arab participants. The Secretary of the Flower Festival in Baghdad and the representative of the Baghdad Municipality, Adel Al-Ardawi, said that their participation carries a message of love scented with the flowers of Iraq to the Syrian people, indicating that it comes with the aim of strengthening cooperation to support and encourage tourism.

The exhibits of the Iraqi pavilion, according to Al-Ardawi, include a variety of plants that Iraq is famous for growing, such as roses, gouriers, cacti, forest and palm plants, in addition to some small models of traditional folk artifacts that represent national identity and folklore, such as dishes made of plant branches and spikes, paintings made of palm fronds, and small models of a popular Iraqi band.
