A senior member of parliament Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Saturday that the new sanctions imposed on Iran by the US administration are in violation of the nuclear deal signed in July 2015 between Iran and the six world powers – known as JCPOA.
Boroujerdi, the head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said that the new US sanctions on multiple Iranian entities are due to Washington’s anger from the defeat of the terrorists it backed in the region.
He said that the historical defeat of terrorists in Aleppo on the one hand and the defeat inflicted on Daesh terrorists in the Iraqi city of Mosul on the other hand, made the US to resort to new sanctions on Iran.
Billions of dollars the US and its allies spent to support the terrorists was actually wasted due to Iran’s military advisory role in Syria and Iraq, Boroujerdi said.
He made it clear that the new US sanctions will not make a delay in Iran’s fight against terrorism.
