French MPs call on the International Olympic Committee to impose sanctions on Israel

Paris-(ST)- French representatives called on the International Olympic Committee to impose sanctions on the Israeli occupation entity in the “Paris 2024 Olympics,” which their country will host next summer.

French media reported that 26 representatives from the Proud France and Greens parties sent a letter to the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, in which they condemned the unprecedented crime of genocide committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The representatives said: “After 4 months of Israeli aggression on Gaza, the number of Palestinian martyrs and missing persons, the majority of whom were women and children, approached 40,000, while the number of injured exceeded 70,000,” the representatives demanded that sanctions must be applied to the occupying entity at the 2024 Paris Olympics if Israel refuses to declare a long-term ceasefire in Gaza Strip.
