The Franco-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced that all French companies operating in Russia continue to operate as usual.
TASS news agency quoted representative of the Chamber as telling reporters that “no French company has left Russia, and all our companies operating there are still doing their usual work in the Russian market,” stressing that there is no danger to French citizens who reside and work in this country.
The representative criticized the Western sanctions imposed on Russia, stressing that they harm the “middle class” citizens.
Western countries imposed unprecedented packages of sanctions on Russia after President Vladimir Putin announced on the 24th of last February the start of a special military operation in Ukraine to protect the population in the Donbass region who have been subjected to persecution and genocide at the hands of the regime in Kiev for eight years.
