French British policy product of colonialist mentality

It is regrettable that some European countries are directly involved in the aggression against Syria in a flagrant contradiction with the humanitarian values.  The Western officials have lost their credibility. They no longer have double standards; they have triple and quadruple standards. They have all kinds of standards for every political situation. They have lost their credibility; they have sold their principles in return for interests, and therefore it is impossible to build a consistent policy with them. Tomorrow, they might do the exact opposite of what they are doing today.

The French President Hollande’s attitude which he expressed at the French Ambassadors Conference recently held in Paris constitutes gross interference in Syria’s internal affairs and stresses France’s continued involvement and complicity in the Syrian bloodshed.

Hollandeis the least popular French president among all his predecessors, one that failure clings to all of his policies. That being the case, Hollande should rather lecture himself and come to conclusions, perhaps he might preserve what remains of France’s reputation in the world.

The French President’s statements are the product of a colonialist mentality that allows itself to hijack the peoples’ decision and control their choices in service of its cheap material interests and accepts to sell its position and values in the oil market.

Hollande has been insisting on pushing forward with the frenzied misinformation campaign launched by the French government since the outset of the crisis in Syria. This has made France a primary and direct accomplice in the shedding of Syrian blood. Hollande himself admitted to providing the terrorist organizations in Syria with weapons. This support provided to the terrorist organizations is the major reason why the crisis in Syria is dragging on and the armed terrorist organizations are growing, multiplying, and spreading to other countries in the region and beyond it.

The French public opinion has expressed condemnation of the policies of President Hollande that have made him the least popular president in the history of the Fifth Republic, and made him the last one with the right to declare himself a defender of the values of justice and human rights and claim to care for the international peace and security.

The Syrian people are now more committed to maintaining Syria’s sovereignty and independent national decision than any time before and will confront any attempts at interfering in their national choices.

The British officials are also meddling in issues that are not their specialty according to the international law and the UN Charter. The British government has no right to preach to others about democracy, human rights and combating terrorism when it itself has employed all its capabilities and brought into play its colonialist experience in providing all forms of support, including financially, militarily and politically to the terrorist organizations in Syria.

The fact that the British government has sent terrorists and extremists to Syria, such as its national “John, the ISIS Slaughterer”, and harbored over tens of years others like Abu Qatada and Omar Abdel-Rahman reveals Britain’s “political hypocrisy and the falseness of its claims about promoting democracy, fighting terrorism and protecting human rights.

Britain should rather preach to itself, especially that it is a permanent member state of the UN, before preaching to others since many people, including of the region’s countries and those of Asia, the Middle East and Latin America, are up till now suffering from the colonialist policies of Britain and other colonialist states.

Those who have a free conscience in Europe should put pressure on their governments to correct their wrong policies. They should mobilize European public opinion against the policies of some European countries which contradict with the interests of their peoples.
