NOUAKCHOTT, (ST)-Secretary General of the Mauritanian Socialist Democratic Unionist Party Mahfouz Weld Aziz has stressed that France and the western countries are paying the price for supporting terrorism which has aimed to destroy the Syrian state’s institutions, destabilize the country and shed the blood of its people.
In a statement of which SANA got a copy yesterday, Weld Aziz said “the West and its agents targeted Syria after they had failed to force Syria to give up its defense of the Arab nation and surrender to the Zionist and American dictates.”
“Western countries in general and France in particular, because of their reckless policies, are now suffering the bitterness of the same terrorism they supported in the region,” Weld Aziz added, pointing out that these countries are no more able to mislead the peoples of the world bout their counter-terrorism claims.
“The Syrian state, people, army and institutions have been facing a global terrorist war for almost five years during which the borders of all European countries were opened to facilitate the passage of terrorists coming from all over the world to Syria to destroy the state’s institutions and kill its people under the complete silence of the West and its tools,” he said.
Weld Aziz questioned the French government’s claims about protecting democracy and human rights and about calling for tolerance and amity, pointing out that this government has kept silent about the heart eating cannibals in Syria and about the terrorist attacks on Syrian mosques, churches and cultural heritage.
He asserted that France and other western states, which claim protecting human rights, are allies to the Turkish regime and to the reactionary regimes in Saudi Arabia and Qatar which all are known of their being the source of terrorism and the supporters and sponsors of terrorist groups aiming to disseminate chaos and destruction world over.
“The Arab nation’s hope will continue to be pinned on Syria which has kept steadfast in the face of foreign-backed terrorism thanks to the awareness of its people, army and leadership,” Weld Aziz said.
