France arrests suspected member of Khashoggi murder squad

PARIS, DEC.7, (ST)-French police Tuesday arrested at Paris’s main airport a suspected member of the team that murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018 , sources said.

Khalid Alotaibi, 33, was detained by border police  just before taking a flight to Riyadh from Charles de Gaulle airport, judicial and airport sources said. He is due to appear before prosecutors on Wednesday, according to AFP.

The Saudi regime have tried to cover up the murder of Khashoggi through convicting eight unnamed people over the murder in 2019. Five of them were found guilty of directly participating in the killing and handed death sentences that were later commuted to 20-year prison terms, while three others were jailed for seven to 10 years.
