Four Syrian women plastic artists participate in the European and Mediterranean Artists Exhibition

Under the title “Ibn Battuta the Mediterranean”, the four women all plastic artists Reem Al-Hayek, Rawan Odeh, Zainab Ali and Reham Al-Hayek participated in the European and Mediterranean Artists Exhibition, which displayed the art works of the participating artists in a touring manner in several countries.

Artist, Reem Al-Hayek, said in a statement to SANA that she participated in a painting which displayed the city of Bosra and its amphitheater using the technique of engraving and printing – silk screen, stressing that the reason for her participation in this painting is that it symbolizes an important Syrian archaeological landmark.

As for Rawan Odeh, she participated in two collagraph paintings, using an abstract method in black and white.

In turn, the artist Rawan Ali pointed out that her first painting is entitled “Desperate”, in which she used the technique of etching with strong water and water dye, and depicted human cases with their various feelings. “Departure” is Rawan’s second painting in which she embodied the destruction of cities and displacing people as a result of the terrorist war on Syria.

Plastic artist Reham Al-Hayek’s painting mixed plastic art with the spirit of Arabic manuscripts using walnut ink, dyed cloth and sand.

The exhibition “Ibn Battuta the Mediterranean” was opened at the Government Scientific Secondary School in Italy after the first showcasing in one of the specialized galleries, and resulted in holding a conference that discussed art works with the participation of more than 200 plastic artists representing European and Mediterranean countries.
