Forty Trucks Carrying Food Supplies Arrive in Aleppo Within Government’s Efforts to Meet Citizens’ Needs
ALEPPO, (ST)-A convoy of 40 trucks carrying around 1000 tons of food supplies arrived Thursday evening in Aleppo province within the framework of the government’s efforts to meet the requirements of the terrorism-hit people of Aleppo and to consolidate their steadfastness in the face of the ongoing terrorist aggression, according to the Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Abdullah al-Gharbi.
In a statement, the minister said the convoy consisted of 40 trucks with 1000 tons of food materials, vegetables, fruits and other food supplies to be distributed to and sold in government marketing centers and through automobiles in competitive prices.
Al-Gharbi pointed out that the process of sending food materials to the people of Aleppo will continue via the land bridge, noting that food stockpile in Aleppo is enough for two months and that the government will spare no effort as to meet the needs of the people there.
On his part, Governor of Aleppo Mohammad Marwan al-Olabi affirmed that the food convoys will provide the local market with products that people need, noting that the governorate of Aleppo is keen on adopting all procedures that help meet citizens’ requirements.
Last Monday, a big quantity of diesel fuel, gasoline and food materials arrived in Aleppo to meet citizens’ need for these materials.
