Forthcoming parliamentary elections affirm Syria’s determination to attain comprehensive stability in the country: Russian diplomat

MOSCOW, (ST)- Andrey Baklanov, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Russian Diplomats, stressed on Saturday that Syria has triumphed in its war on terrorism and that the parliamentary elections to be held this month affirm Syria’s determination to continue the process of attaining comprehensive stability.

In a statement to SANA correspondent in Moscow, Baklanov said that Syria has gained the respect of the peoples of the region and the world because it didn’t subjugate to US and western dictates.

Syria’s enemies don’t want the parliamentary elections in Syria to succeed, the Russian diplomat said, calling on Syrians not to pay attention to the enemies. He said he is confident that the People’s Assembly’s elections will be held successfully and democratically.

In a relevant context, Baklanov asserted that the so-called “Caesar Act” is an aggressive law that amounts to a crime against humanity, pointing out that this unfair US law targets the Syrians’ livelihood and impedes Syria’s reconstruction and economic recovery.
