Foreign Ministry: US Statements on Washington’s Decision to Arm Terrorist Groups Confirms US Role in Inflaming Crisis in Syria

DAMASCUS, (ST)- US officials statements, circulated by media outlets, on Washington’s decision to arm the terrorist groups in Syria confirm the US role in inflaming the crisis in Syria, a foreign and Expatriates Ministry source said on Thursday.

The source told SANA that the statements indicate the U.S dishonesty about the issue of attaining a political solution to the crisis through holding the international conference on Syrian in Geneva.

The source said that the statements reveal the real American intentions which aim at escalating violence and terrorism in Syria to destabilize the entire region and serve Israel’s aggressive goals.

“Since the beginning of the crisis in Syria, the United States hasn’t stopped to arm terrorists and support their criminal acts against the Syrian people and against the Syrian state infrastructure,” the source said, stressing that the steadfastness of the Syrian people and the success of the Syrian army will foil the US-Israeli schemes and terminate their criminal tools in Syria.
