Foreign Ministry: US, French Anti-Syria Remarks Violate UN Charter, Aim to Raise Terrorists’ Morale

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria has vehemently condemned the statements made by the US and France Foreign ministries against Syria, stressing that such remarks violate the principles of the UN Charter as regards respecting countries’ sovereignty and the non-interference in states’ internal affairs.

An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates told SANA on Sunday that ”the statements once again confirm the alliance between these two states on the one hand and the armed terrorist groups on the other.  They aim to raise the morale of the terrorists following their successive defeats in battles with the Syrian Arab Army.”

“The remarks also confirm the hypocrisy and lies of the officials of these two states and violate international law principles and values which say that people is the only source of legitimacy not the contentment of this colonialist country or that,” the source added.

It concluded by stressing that the Syrian people, who are steadfastly confronting the takfiri terrorism and its regional and international supporters, are now, more than ever before, adherent to Syria’s sovereignty, unity and independent national decision.
