Foreign Ministry: UNGA Resolution on al-Quds a Slap against US Policy

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria has welcomed the UN General Assembly’s resolution (UNGA) that refuses to recognize al-Quds as Israel’s capital, stressing that the resolution is a slap by the international community against the policy of the US administration, according to a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

The source told SANA that the resolution shows how much the US and the Zionist entity are isolated because of their aggressive and arrogant policies that cause tension and instability in the world.

The US officials’ remarks before and after yesterday UNGA voting session have proved the low level of the US policy, particularly in the light of the US threat of not implementing its obligations towards the UN and the US blackmail against the world countries to prevent them from supporting the resolution, said the source.

It added “such a policy is not strange by the party that has been supporting the state terrorism being practiced by Israel and that has been providing all forms of support for terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq.”

The source clarified that the international community’s support for the Palestinians’ right in a l-Quds, has stressed that the American influence is limited and that free will and conscience can’t be bought by dollars and won’t surrender to US threats.

It called on the US administration to correct its wrong policies and assume its responsibility in maintaining international peace and security as to restore the respect of the world.

The source concluded by saying that this resolution affirms the wide international support the Palestinian cause and al-Quds are still enjoying contrary to what some Arab officials, who serve US agendas,  try to promote.
