The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has stressed that the US State Department’s annual report on human rights in the world includes lies about alleged human rights violations in all countries of the world, pointing out that the report’s claims about Syria were obtained from reports prepared by terrorist organizations and their supporters in the region and the world.
In a statement on Saturday, the ministry said that the ill-famed report uncovers its own shortcomings and exposes the real goals behind such reports which reflect racism and constitute a flagrant interference in the internal affairs of the countries that don’t follow the dictates of the American administration and the parties that prepared this report.
The ministry added that the report went far in its lies and misinformation against Syria and other countries that don’t accept the policies of the United States such as Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela, Iran and Belarus, stressing that these lies have been uncovered by the peoples of these countries and by a major part of the world public opinion.
Those who prepared the report deliberately ignored the grave violations committed by the successive US administrations, including the US unilateral coercive measures which violate all human rights and which prove that the United States is the biggest violator of human rights in the world, the ministry went on to say. It pointed out that Washington has managed to hide this fact from its people through controlling the media and the communications.
The ministry emphasized that the US administration’s claim that protecting human rights is a priority of its foreign policy is an extreme hypocrisy, noting the continuous suffering of the Syrian people from the inhuman US economic siege which aims at starving the Syrians.
The ministry made it clear that the report didn’t mention the root causes behind the catastrophe in Syria represented in America’s support for terrorist organizations, its santions and its crimes of stealing Syria’s oil, wheat and other resources.
The ministry concluded the statement by saying that Syria has repeatedly stressed that it is against using the human rights file for achieving political goals and interests, reiterating that those whose have a black human rights record don’t have the right to talk about protecting human rights.
