Damascus (ST): The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry affirmed that what was stated in the joint statement by the representatives of the United States, France, Britain and Germany in Geneva, after their meeting with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Syria, is a desperate attempt to prolong the crisis in Syria.
The ministry said in a tweet via its Twitter account, that what was said in the statement is nothing but a repetition, and a desperate attempt to follow up on its efforts to prolong the crisis in Syria, and to justify its violations of its sovereignty and its attempt to interfere in its internal affairs.”
The ministry added: “It is ironic that these countries did not address Security Council Resolution 2253 on combating terrorism, nor Resolution 2672, which provides for support for early recovery projects; This means its continued support for terrorism and its obstruction of efforts to improve the humanitarian situation in Syria, especially electricity, which affects various aspects of life.”
The Foreign Ministry continued: “If these countries were really keen on the humanitarian situation in Syria, they would have had to immediately lift their unilateral, inhuman and immoral coercive measures against the Syrian people.”
