Foreign Ministry: The brutal Israeli practices in occupied Jerusalem violate international humanitarian law
On February 14th, Syria affirmed that the continuation of the Israeli brutal practices represented in confiscating Palestinian lands, demolishing homes and deporting Palestinians are illegal practices.
Syria called on international and humanitarian organizations to halt them and prevent (Israel) from persisting in killing, persecuting and stripping Palestinians of their rights.
“ The orders issued by the Israeli occupation authorities to displace Palestinian citizens and evacuate their property in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied Jerusalem are war crimes and crimes against humanity and a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement about the brutal Israeli attacks on Palestinian citizens in occupied Jerusalem.
The ministry added: “Syria affirms that the continuation of Israeli brutal practices represented in confiscating Palestinian lands, demolishing homes and deporting Palestinians from their homes are inhuman and illegal practices and only lead to an escalation of the situation in the Palestinian territories in particular and in the region in general.”
The ministry concluded its statement by saying: “ Syria calls on all countries of the world and international and humanitarian organizations to work immediately to halt these Israeli practices and prevent (Israel) from persisting in killing and persecuting Palestinians and stripping them of their rights.”
