Foreign Ministry: Syrians abroad exercising their duty in the presidential elections is an expression of the depth of belonging to the homeland
Damascus (ST): The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry expressed the high appreciation of Syrian citizens outside the borders of the homeland for exercising the national duty of voting in the presidential elections, stressing that this massive participation is an expression of the depth of belonging to the homeland and adherence to an independent national decision.
The statement pointed out that despite the fact that a handful of countries hostile to Syria and complicit in the unfair war against it deprived the Syrians of their constitutional right by preventing the holding of elections on their lands, Syrians throughout the world, by flocking heavily to the polling stations expressed the depth of belonging to the beloved homeland and rejecting any form of subordination, guardianship, and external interference in its affairs, adherence to an independent national decision, and cohesion with their brothers within the borders of the homeland in drawing the image of the future Syria, a Syria of pride, national dignity, and a prosperous homeland for all Syrians.
The ministry concluded that while it expresses the high appreciation of the Syrian citizens outside the borders of the homeland for exercising their national duty in the presidential elections, it reiterates the important role of the expatriates in participating in all national entitlements and contributing to the process of rebuilding what has been destroyed by terrorism and realizing the promising future for Syrians in one united Syria.
