Foreign Ministry: Syria Vehemently Condemns Peshawar Coward School Attack

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Syria has vehemently condemned the vicious attack which yesterday targeted a school in the Pakistani city of Peshawar claiming the lives of 148 people most of them were school children, a Foreign Ministry source said on Wednesday.

The source told the state news agency SANA that “this coward assault, which was carried out by takfiri extremist narrow-minded people, stresses again and again the need for collective international efforts, based on international legitimacy resolutions, to eradicate terrorism and maintain international peace and security.”

“Syria, whose people have suffered a lot from such blind terrorism, extends its most sincere condolences to the families of the victims and expresses its sympathy with the friendly people and government of Pakistan,” the source said.

Members of the Pakistani Taliban Movement yesterday carried out a terrorist attack against a school run by the Pakistani army in Peshawar city killing 148 people, most of them were school children, and wounding 124 others. The crime was described as the bloodiest terrorist attack in Pakistan’s history.
