Foreign Ministry : Syria reiterates support for one-China principle

Syria reiterated its support and adherence to the principle of “One China,” represented by the government of the People’s Republic of China.

As the date of the play of the presidential inauguration in Taiwan approaches, slated for May 20, 2024, Syria Supports china’s efforts to preserve China’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement on Sunday, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

Syria also condemned attempts of foreign interference in Chinese internal affairs and all provocations and actions that would aggravate the situation in the East Asia region, the ministry added.

Syria reiterates that the island of Taiwan is an integral part of the People’s Republic of China and that no procedure or election held on this island can change this reality, the ministry concluded.
