Syria strongly condemned the illegal visit of the US Chief of Staff to an illegal US military base in northeastern Syria, stressing that it is a flagrant violation of its sovereignty, sanctity and territorial integrity.
An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement today: “The US Chief of Staff made an illegal visit to an illegal US military base in northeastern Syria, and the US military official claimed that the reason for this visit was to assess the effectiveness of the war against ISIS.”
The source added: These allegations are completely false as the international community knows very well that “ISIS” is an illegitimate offspring of US intelligence, and the criminal operations carried out by “ISIS” never target US forces and their puppets .
The source continued: As for the American forces’ theft of Syrian wealth, including oil and wheat, it continues without stopping, including the theft of more than 150 tanks of Syrian oil by the American forces during the past 9 days.
The source explained that the support provided by the American forces to terrorist and separatist militias in the areas they occupy is a declared American position aimed at prolonging the terrorist war against Syria for goals that are no longer hidden from anyone.
The source indicated that it is no secret to anyone the catastrophic situation of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the US administration on Syria.
The source said: Syria strongly condemns this flagrant violation by the US military official of the sovereignty and inviolability of its lands and territorial integrity.
The source said that Syria calls on the US administration to immediately halt its systematic and continuous violations of international law, and stop its support for separatist armed militias.
The source added: Syria turns once again to the countries that seek security and stability in our region and the world to condemn and stop these American violations.
The source concluded by saying: Syria confirms that these American practices will not deviate it from its approach to combating terrorism and preserving its sovereignty, security and stability.
