Foreign Ministry strongly condemns the latest wave of Israeli attacks on Syria

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned in the stongest terms the latest wave of Israeli attacks on Syria.

In a press release on Wednesday, the ministry said:

In a blatant violation of the international law and the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic, the Israeli forces conducted airstrikes against five different areas across the country within 30 minutes.

The aggressions resulted in almost complete destruction of Hama Military Airport and the wounding of tens of civilians and military personnel.

This unjustified escalation is a deliberate Israeli attempt to destabilize Syria and prolong the suffering of the Syrian people.

While Syria is seeking to go ahead with reconstruction after 14 years of war, these repeated Israeli attacks come within the context of a clear Israeli attempt to normalize violence in the country which would hinder recovery efforts and perpetuate the policy of impunity.

The Syrian Arab Republic calls on the international community to pressure Israel to stop its aggression and abide by the international law and its pledges under the 1974 disengagement of forces agreement.

Syria also calls on the United Nations and the concerned international parties to take immediate measures as to stop this escalation and prevent further violations.
