Foreign Ministry mobilizes global diplomatic effort to oppose Israeli law banning UNRWA operations

RAMALLAH- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates instructed Palestinian embassies and missions to engage with foreign ministries, decision-makers and public opinion in their host countries, to build a broad international coalition to pressure Israel over its recent law prohibiting UNRWA operations.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry emphasized that this diplomatic initiative is conducted in partnership with brotherly and friendly Arab and Islamic countries.

The Ministry also expressed appreciation for the countries that have opposed the Israeli Knesset’s decision against UNRWA, urging all nations to publicly denounce the law as an aggression against Palestinian people and refugees, as well as an attack on the United Nations and its specialized agencies.

It called for immediate action to transform global opposition into concrete steps that hold Israel accountable, safeguard UN institutions, and compel Israel to rescind and halt the law’s implementation.
