Foreign Ministry: Excluding Syria from the conference held in Brussels aims at covering the EU’s real goals and bankrupt policy towards the Syrian people

Damascus – The conference that was held at the European Union’s (EU) headquarters in Brussels and that was dedicated basically for the Syrian issue took place in the absence of Syria. The EU has chosen to exclude Syria from the conference so that its real goals and bankrupt policies are not exposed due to the immoral and inhuman coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people by the United States and the EU, a source at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on Saturday.

The source pointed out that international courtesy requires inviting the concerned country, the Syrian Arab Republic, to express its opinion on the issues raised and the challenges facing its people, but, the European Union has chosen to exclude the Syrian state so that the truth of its goals and bankrupt policies will not be revealed.

“Organizers of the conference were satisfied with the participation of their tools which are allied with Daesh (ISIS), Jabhat Al-Nusra and other terror groups and which continued with their conspiracy against Syria and stand against the will and interests of the Syrian people by demanding the countries participating in the conference not to allow the Syrian refugees to return to their homeland and not to provide humanitarian assistance to the victims of terrorism and the earthquake in the country,” the source clarified.

Syria, which has undermined the goals of the terrorist war and foiled foreign attempts to interfere in its internal affairs, stresses that the attempts to undermine its stances were doomed to political failure, the source added.

The source pointed out that Syria, which withstood the crimes of the mercenaries and terrorists, is determined today to work with its friends and Arab brothers and with all the forces of the good in the world to enhance its victories and overcome the consequences of the economic blockade imposed on it.
