Foreign Ministry : Dutch government’s involvement in supporting terrorism in Syria is political and a moral scandal
DAMASCUS, Dec.13, (ST)-What has been revealed in the report issued on Dec 12th by the so-called “Independent International Commission of Inquiry on non-lethal assistance in Syria” regarding the involvement of the Dutch government in supporting terrorist groups in Syria, shows the legal, political and moral scandals of the Netherlands, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
The ministry said in a statement posted on its twitter account on Tuesday that this Commission admitted that the support provided by the Dutch government to the so called “armed opposition groups in Syria” contradicts international law.
The commission also indicated that Dutch public opinion was mislead and the fact that the materials provided were used in combat by terrorist organizations was hidden from them
The ministry underlined that the report proves again the credibility of what Syria has said repeatedly about the involvement of the Western states, including the Netherlands, in providing support to terrorism in Syria under various pretexts.
“Syria calls on the international community to hold those states accountable for all their violations of the international law, including the humanitarian law along with all related Security Council Resolutions, and to put an end to using “combating terrorism” as a pretext by those states to interfere in the domestic affairs of other countries, “ the ministry concluded.
