DAMASCUS,(ST)_Foreign and Expatriates Ministry has called on the UN Security Council to condemn in the strongest terms the crime perpetrated by the so-called the ‘armed moderate opposition’ against schoolchildren in Homs.
In a letter sent Thursday to the UNSC on yesterday’s twin blasts hit near elementary schools in Ekrema quarter in Homs city, the ministry said that the available information about the blasts assures that the terrorist organizations, which some western states and their tools in the region call the ‘moderate opposition’, committed the crime.
It noted that Saudi Arabia is to open training camps for the so-called the ‘armed moderate opposition’ that commit crimes against Syrian people before the world public opinion.
“Killing innocent civilians and children is unjustified crime,” the ministry said, adding that the UNSC’s standing idly by as armed terrorist organizations perpetrate crimes in Syria has encouraged the terrorists organizations to go ahead with carrying out such dirty acts.
It reminded of the terrorist attacks on ‘Badreddin al-Husini’ Institute for Religious Sciences, the “Dar al-Salam” School and the “al-Manar” School in Damascus.
Illogical
The ministry added that making distinction between an ‘armed moderate opposition’ and an ‘armed immoderate opposition’ is illogical and contradicts the right way to deal with challenges that face the entire world due to the spread of terrorism.
Since more than three years ago, Syria has warned against consequences of double-standard policy adopted by some countries in fighting terrorism, the ministry said.
It pointed out that yesterday’s crime against schoolchildren in Homs city is not the first against innocent children.
last month, factitious health institutes affiliated to armed terrorist organizations in cooperation with Turkish authorities provided Syrian children in areas located east of Maaret al-Noaman in Idlib countryside with unknown source measles vaccinations where 15 children, mostly babies, were martyred.
1887 terror attacks in two months
“Between August and September, some 1887 terrorist attacks killed 296 civilians and wounded 1487 others, including children and women, nationwide,” the ministry clarified.
It appealed to the UNSC to adopt a clear attitude towards Homs crime and other crimes perpetrated by armed terrorist groups.
Yesterday, a suicide bomber blew himself up a few minutes after terrorists exploded a car bomb near two schools in Ekrema quarter, killing 33 civilians, including 25 kids, and wounding 167 others, mostly kids.
