Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad and his Vietnamese counterpart Bui Thanh Son, during a phone conversation on Wednesday, discussed means of consolidating bilateral relations between Syria and Vietnam in all fields.
The Vietnamese minister affirmed his country’s keenness on enhancing the relations between the two countries and congratulate the Syrian people and government on their steadfastness and victory in the terrorist war waged on the country.
He expressed Vietnam’s willingness and intention to provide assistance for Syria in the reconstruction process and for the families affected by the devastating earthquake that hit the country last February.
For his part, Al-Mikdad affirmed that Vietnam has a special position in the hearts of the Syrian people because of their heroic steadfastness and legendary victory over the Americans in the heinous war waged on them during the last century, which produced a great image for the Vietnamese in front of the peoples of the developing world.
Al-Mikdad said that Syria thanks Vietnam for the assistance it provided and welcomes the idea of benefiting from its expertise in the reconstruction phase, which constitutes a joint experience for both friendly countries.
He asserted the need to continue consultation and coordination to enhance bilateral relations and strengthen their stances at international forums.
