NEW YORK, (ST)- The Foreign Ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) have called on the Israeli occupation to withdraw from the Occupied Syrian Golan to the June 4th, 1967 line.
In a political declaration, issued at the conclusion of an Online Ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) titled “Bandung 65: More Relevant, United and Effective NAM against Emerging Global Challenges, including COVID-19″, the ministers condemned all the procedures taken by the Israeli occupation to change the legal, material and demographic status of the Occupied Syrian Golan.
They called on Israel to comply with the UN Security Council’s resolution No.497 for 1981 and to withdraw from the Syrian occupied Golan to the Line of June 4th ,1967, in implementation for the Security Council resolutions No. 242 and 338.
The ministers strongly condemned issuing and imposing unilateral coercive measures against member states of the Movement in violation of the UN Charter and the international law.
They reaffirmed the movement’s principled positions regarding the rights of the peoples under occupation and colonialism to self-determination and stressed the United Nations’ responsibility towards the Palestinian cause until it is resolved in an acceptable way and in accordance with the international law and the UN relevant resolutions.
The ministers concluded their declaration by affirming their adherence to the principles of Bandung conference regarding the achievement of a more secure world dominated by the principles of peace, justice, solidarity and cooperation and based on respecting the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, equality, non-interference in internal affairs, refraining from aggression and resolving conflicts peacefully.
