The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad received today a copy of the credentials of Waheed Mubarak Al-Sayyar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Syrian Arab Republic.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between Syria and Bahrain and ways of enhancing them in various fields for the benefit of the two peoples and the two brotherly countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Miqdad welcomed the appointment of Al-Sayyar as ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Syria, wishing him success in performing his duties in strengthening relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, stressing Syria’s keenness on the best relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain and all the brotherly Arab countries, and stressing that the Arab people are one entity united by a history, a common destiny and common concerns.
Mikdad pointed to the need to work to purify the Arab atmosphere and improve the Arab situation to face common challenges.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Sayyar expressed his happiness at his appointment as ambassador of his country in Damascus, stressing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen Bahraini relations with Syria and develop joint cooperation with Syrika in all fields.
Ambassador Al-Sayyar stressed the depth of the brotherly relations between Syria and Bahrain, expressing his aspiration to work for the development and expansion of these relations for the benefit of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
Ambassador Al-Sayyar said that Bahrain seeks to purify the Arab atmosphere, indicating that his country supports Syria’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity and refuses to interfere in its internal affairs.
Al-Sayyar stressed that he will work to activate the cooperation agreements signed between the two countries with the aim of activating cooperation and raising them to the highest levels, expressing his aspiration to hold the meetings of the joint economic committee between the two countries as soon as possible.
The meeting was attended from the Syrian side by Dr. Ghassan Obaid, Director of the Communication and Protocol Department, Othman Saab, Director of the Arab Affairs Department, Dr. Abdullah Al-Hallaq, Director of the Executive Support Department, Wareef Al-Halabi, Director of the Media Department, Adib Al-Ashqar from the Minister’s office, and from the Bahraini side, Kamil Ramadan from the Bahrain Embassy in Damascus.
