Foreign Minister meets a high-level Japanese delegation

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Al-Shaibani on Thursday met with Ando Toshihide, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Director General of the Office of Middle East and African Affairs. Ando stressed his country’s support for the Syrian people and its keenness to participate in future international conferences supporting Syria. He also affirmed Japan’s readiness to exchange expertise and experiences between the two countries. The Japanese envoy pointed out that the future of Syria must be determined by the Syrians themselves, stressing their right to self-determination and the integrity of the Syrian territories. For his part, Al-Shaibani noted the need to strengthen relations with Japan and exchange experiences to serve the Syrian people. The Foreign Minister praised the support of Japan, which is a friend of Syria, in terms of reconstruction and the return of the displaced.
