Foreign minister Asaad Al-Sheiban said in a tweet “I congratulate our great people in Syria and abroad on the arrival of the first Eid after the liberation of our beloved homeland. We celebrate both the joy of Eid and the victory of the people’s will over oppression and tyranny.

“We ask Allah to grant us continued security, stability, and prosperity, and may Syria remain proud and dignified with its loyal people. Blessed Eid to you all, and may you be well every year.”
