Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani tweeted on Platform X:

“From day one, we have faced both covert and overt wars aimed at breaking the will of the Syrian people and defeating them in the fields of security, politics, and governance—whether through spreading chaos or attempting to impose political isolation abroad.

However, we have thwarted these attempts many times and restored Syria to its rightful place in the region and the world. The Syrian people have demonstrated exceptional awareness and national spirit by standing together, protecting national interests, and rallying behind their leadership—especially in areas where foreign powers had placed their bets.

Since the fall of the Assad regime, the new Syrian leadership, represented by President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, has taken wise steps to strengthen security, stability, and civil peace.

The Syrian people have reclaimed their country after more than fifty years of exclusion and tyranny. Every Syrian household has sacrificed everything for this moment, and what happened yesterday cannot succeed in a country where the army and the people are one and the same.

In conclusion, while I reassure our people that Syria has once again passed the test and is forging ahead toward the future with strength and determination, I also extend my gratitude to the brotherly and friendly nations that have expressed their support for the Syrian government in its fight against the remnants of Assad.”
